The battle begins!

I picked up a computer from friends at Church yesterday, they said it was freezing up. I did the normal stuff and was amazed at how much spyware there was in there! MOMMA! the most spyware I'd seen in a computer was 60 or 65, this computer had 350!! LOL! WOW!
There was smithfraud, Zlob downloader, browser hijacker, Myweb/Myway search, four toolbars, antivirus pro 2009 (MAJOR spyware) and a host of others, myweb accounted for 270 hits alone! GAK! anywho, I didn't have the Windows 200 pro disc for it so I had to remove the junkware, I'd normaly format and wipe the system if it was anywhere near this bad, but the spyware is all gone now! WOO-HOO! I WIN! LOL!

AVG Free
Ad Aware 2008
Spybot Search And Destroy
Auslogics Disc Defrag
Auslogics Registry Defrag
C Cleaner.........these are OK to use, they are FREE! and free of spyware too!

Be careful what you put in your computer...it could get you in the end!

"I CAN" Man!

Enough snow already!

I am so tired of the snow and cold already, I can't wait till SPRING is here! (I am so in trouble already!)
I'm still looking for a job, I have put in a few resumes on line and a few more by hand, and I even received an application by mail yesterday, I would rather work than go back to college. I WORK! that's what I do! I want to WORK! I am pursuing a position with a company right now that would be awesome! "the next step" you could say, guess I'll see what happens! I'm heading out a little later to talk to the contact.
The Bravada that I tore down and repaired earlier this year has been a Godsend! that thing goes through near any type of weather, even with a couple of inches of snow it keeps going like the Energizer bunny! with four wheel drive you shouldn't go any faster, it just get's you better traction, but you still need the same distance to stop....still love the four wheel dirve! LOL
I hear that we will be getting up to a fott of snow in the next day and a half! hi-ho, hi-ho, it off to shovel I go! LOL! enough snow thankyou! I'd like some warm weather please!
Later for now!

"I CAN" Man!

Forgetting what?

It seems that I have forgotten about this blog? worse yet, there isn't anything going on! LOL
I am still unemployed and looking for a job, I am STINKING unchallenged at the moment, looking for any projects that might keep my mind busy even for a little while....
I'm still jumping through the hoop's that are presented to me, but it will pan out in the end, so bring them on please.
The weather here is stinking cold for the moment, I'm hoping thast it will get better SOON! I'd like to drive the coupe instead of the Bravada (MUCH better gas mileage) and it looks cooler too! I finshed ripping my CD's into the laptop, glad to have it done! There may be a few CD's laying around somewhere that need ripped, but not many!
As I said, not much going on here at all.
Later for now!

God's snow blower

I'm thinking that God is running his snow blower right now, we've received snow nearly every day this week, too much for this time of year.
I spent a day or so ripping my classical and opera music into my laptop, it was nice doing it! I had forgotten just how much I enjoy it! I ripped some good caruso in also, I had forgotten that I had three CD's of his singing.

Cold, cold and MORE cold!!!

YUP! it is cold here! Oh how I am ALREADY longing for spring and my trailer! more than I can say to be honest, I could use that time to relax!
Nothing new on the homefront, still no job and there isn't many jobs out there, God will provide.
Time to head off, COPS is on!

"I CAN" Man!

Tuesday dinner

Today there is a dinner at the Church, I am WAY looking forward to the food that will be there! OH YUMMY!!! there is ALWAYS good food there! and LOTS of it!
Nothing new here, still no job and no good leads on jobs either, so goes the economy!
I'm hoping to receive the replacement ram for the computers soon, I was right that the sellers had sent me high density ram instead of the low density I needed, seven sticks on their way! WOO-HOO!! POWER GOOD! five notebooks will benefit from this memory, and all five will be maxed out as far as ram goes....more ram=faster notebook!
Well, thats about it! told ya it was BORING here at the moment! I'd rather be working! BUT! that is not possible for now.
Coffee's calling!!
Later all!

"I CAN" Man!

That four letter word! "SNOW!"

I can handle the snowfall we've been getting, a half an inch at a time is OKIE DOKIE with me! Too bad it will not last though? we'll be getting MUCH more very soon.
The SODIMM's that I received that were wrong are back on their way to the seller, it must be he grabbed the wrong one's? because not ONE of them worked in the machines I was upgrading! GAK! yeah, I'm a BIT disappointed, but the right one's will be on their way soon.
Yesterday was nice, I took Junior out (My Acer One) to Wendy's and surfed the Internet there, I needed to get out in a bad way, I was feeling a bit cooped up, OK, MORE than a bit cooped up! I was going NUTTS!! (A short trip indeed)
I should receive that drive I ordered shortly, time for the 5100, it will increase the performance greatly, I can deal with that! FAST is GOOD!
Now I just need to find a TL-60, TL-62, TL-64 or TL-68 processor, I'd LOVE to have the TL-68, just can't justify the price of it! more than likely it will be a TL-62 that goes into the 5100, still a NICE upgrade!
I'm into the second cup of coffee already, it is going to be one of those day's!

Feeling better

We had a little snow yesterday, only like half an inch, but it is here! GAK! it is here......

So yup! I'm feeling better now, don't know WHAT was trying to get me but it almost did!
I will be heading to G.R. later this week to get certified for job training (I'm sure I qualify, two plants I worked at closed and sent jobs to Mexico) I would like to get training in the I.T. field, I already work on computers so I might as well go GEEK and complete the process.
I ordered some ram off E-bay and received it yesterday, of the eight sticks I ordered seven were WRONG! GAK! the ram was for five different machines that I have worked on (it would have maxed the memory out in ALL of them) I contacted the seller, hopefully I can get the replacements quickly so I can get this project done and move on to the next....
The next project of course is my laptop, the 4Gb. of ram is installed, and the 320Gb. 7200Rpm. 16Mb. cache drive is on its way!! WOO-HOO!! I only need to upgrade the CPU now! HOWEVER those can be pricey so I'm taking my time on it! I have a AMD TL-52 now and would like to upgrade to a TL-64 (A TL-60 is more likely though) DON'T replace it! UPGRADE it! LOL!
I'm not sure if I posted about it or not, but I lost my laptop to an Internet Explorer virus, I have NO idea how it is I got it, but I DID!
I was able to back up everything before I did the Acer restore, so I didn't lose anything! I have NOT however re-installed everything, that new drive is on it's way and I'll wait till then to complete that job.
After I install the new drive, I will be left with a 250Gb. drive to use as a backup drive. I only need to install it in the enclosure that holds the 160Gb. backup drive I already have, space is GOOD!
I should head off for now, coffee's calling me LOUDLY thankyou!
Later!!

Illness in the house

Yeah, there is illness in the house! both the laptop and I have a virus! GAK! somewhere along the line the laptop caught a nasty little bug that messed with Exploroer in a big way untill finaly it was getting taken over.
There is a PQ Service partition on the hard drive so I did a recovery and reinstalled all the updates. I'm not going to install everything, I have a new drive for it that will speed up the process in a big way, SPEED IS GOOD!
I also have a nasty little bug that is kicking my butt, I'm hoping to feel better soon, there are still things that need to be done here at the house, just no energy or ambition on my part.
I received the memory that I was waiting for, most of it! the ram will max out five laptops memory. Generaly a 512Mb. PC2700 SODIMM is around $30, I was able to pick them up for $14 each! a VERY good deal indeed.
If you want to speed up your computer, install and MAX out the memory! THEN!! clean it up using the freeware that is available!
1. Ad Aware 2008
2. Spybot search and destroy
3. C-cleaner
4. Auslogics disc defrag
5. Auslogics registry defrag
6. AVG free
ALSO!!! use disc cleanup! it is under accessories on XP and Vista!
This stuff is all FREE folks! FREE is GOOD! and they REALLY work!
Time to head off for now, bed is calling me!

Siting 'round

There's not much going on here right now, I won some memory on Ebay and will be installing them on a few different laptops soon. The trickle down affect will be put into play soon also, two of the laptops have 256Mb. SODIMM's in them and they will be going into another laptop when it arrives, which will be in the spring.
I'd like to do some more modding on my laptop, update the processor to a TL-64 and upgrade the hard drive to a 320Gb. 7200Rpm. 32Mb. cache, make it run like a racecar! LOL
But! I'll have to see if that is possible or not, I guess only time will tell?

HP issues

At the moment I am working on my aunts ANCIENT HP desktop, so far I have identified at least 80 infections on the machine, I BELIEVE most are gone now! I could be wrong however! LOL!
The HP is already running better, but I'd like to speed it up a bit more for my Aunt, make it run nice....not even sure what AMD processor is in it? but it is like 700 or 800Mhz. so a little goes a LONG way!
I'll post more about this poor old fella later!
'K, it'd later nd that thing was a MESS! LOT'S of spyware in it, over 80 infections in it! it took a while, but it is running once again, then it lost the video drivers, that took me an hour to fix, then I ran like the wind! LOL!
It is all set now, as good as it will get for it's age.

The dream

I woke recently, finding myself in a strange place, a cluttered place that seemed foreign to me, yet familiar and comfortable, was this my home?
It felt like I had been away for some time, there was dust on everything and clutter seemed to have taken over this homes very existence. I started cleaning in one room then the next, reclaiming what once was mine. Slowly but surely the rooms and the home began to once again look as they did before the great sleep. Each room was a battle with the dust bunny's and clutter that seemed unwilling to let go of their unyielding hold.
The outside of my home was the same, the dirt and grime of time had accumulated there also, the bright white exterior now dull and dirty, the windows cloudy and the bushes in the yard taking over and leaving me to wonder if this indeed was my home?
I battled the yard and the room's for three week's before they once again became recognizable, the faint memory of my home growing stronger with each passing battle.
Today I awoke "in my home" the last of the great battles waged in the night, the curtains are up in all the rooms now and "I am home" the great sleep is over!
There are still small bands of rogue dust bunny's hidden throughout my home clinging to their clutter, attempting to reclaim what they have lost, but I will not yield to their demands, they will not overcome, for I have WON the war! the battles are over, I am awake! and home once again!
Winter has come, but the darkness and cold cannot overtake me, I am home, it's warmth and comfort give me peace. There are many thing's to accomplish yet here, but those battles have been won also, time to finish and complete the home, time is what I now have.
Onward and forward! it is the only path! The great sleep is OVER!

Netbook surgery!

I once again opened the netbook up and performed surgery on it. This time I installed a Western Digital WD2500BEKT one of their "black" drives. This drive is a 7200Rpm. drive with a 16Meg. cache. K...so what does that mean? desktop performance in a net-book!! OH YEAH! along with the 1.536Meg.. of ram and jacking the virtual ram to 4092 on each partition, this little machine will cruise right along.
I was looking for a nice little toy to carry around, I have found it!
Later for now!

Another one down~

I completed another project today, one that I was a bit worried would turn out to be difficult, The opposite was true however. As it turns out the van I was working on was easier to work on than I though, the tierod end's came off quite easliy and the oil change was no biggie at all. The only thing that I had to put any effort into was the headlights on the van, they had yellowed out really badly and needed to be cleaned, I think the owner will be able to see a BIT better now! they are not crystal clear, but they are MUCH clearer than before.
There were no other big projects today, I think I am done with those! SWEET! LOL! well, almost! I still need to install the new idler arm on my Bravada, but that can wait if need be till there is another warm day, that could be a while yet.
I see that I will need to rake the yard up again this week, a thin layer of leaves has attached themselves to it. At least this time it will not take four day's to clean the yard up!
Later for now!

"I CAN!" Man~~

The "list"

The mental list I have of things that need to be done here at the house grows shorter with each day, I finished raking the back yard and cleaned the back porch out yesterday and BOTH were big projects!
I also vacuumed the house while baby sitting my four year old niece, she kinda liked that! LOL!
I am surprised just how much clutter I had accumulated here? CRIMANY! even though the back porch has been cleaned it will be spring before it is truely "finished" the city has a collection day where you can drop off things like old furnature, paint, metal, wood.....I have a small pile of those things that need to be recycled when I can.
I will admit, I've been so busy that I am getting a little burned out, there was just so much to get done, my house wasn't a pigpen or anything, just VERY cluttered up.
I did something for the first time since I've been laid off, I ordered pizza, a nice treat indeed that was made better by putting powdered red pepper on it, NICE and spicy! (powdered red pepper is crushed red pepper flakes put in a mill and powdered, YUMMY!)
I'll try and post a picture of all the leaves I removed from the yard, it was a bumper crop year here for them!
Later for now!
Here I are again!
I finished the two van's I was working on today as well as my Bravada's fuel filter and Mom's air filter in her van and I am WHIPPED!! and in a bit of pain LOL! the list is getting smaller and smaller! YES!!!
Guess I'll head off for now!
Later!!

"I CAN" Man

It's curtains I tell ya! curtains for ya!

I spent some time putting up curtains last night, when I had the house remodeled on the outside four...five? years ago I only put the shades back up in most of the house, there had only been cheap curtains in most of the house anyhow....I picked up some nice curtains at Wal-mart last night for $35, and the odd's and end's I needed were another $35.
I'd still like to put new curtains up in the front room, they are at least 20 years old and in need of a serious update now.
I think it was the group "2nd. Chapter of Act" that had a song "make my house feel like a home" well my house is starting to feel like a home again, I had forgotten that feeling? how can that be?ALL work and no play, that's how!
Since I was let go on the tenth, I had made a huge effort to clean and maintain the house and the surrounding yard, when I did "wake up" enough and take a good hard look at the place I could see that there were MANY things that were in need of immediate attention. I've been working on the outside of the house and in the yard now for about a week and have nearly completed my mental list of projects. I still have a day or two's work to get done, but the outside is starting to look really nice again.
I have had paint for the inside of the house for a FEW years, and as soon as the outside projects and inside projects are all done I will be painting the inside of the house....as I said...MANY things to get accomplished yet! I have the time now, I just need to keep an even keel, I don't want to burn myself out and get nothing done in the meantime.
I watched some Pixar shorts last night, there are like 14 of them total, some that I'd not viewed before, BOY did I need those laugh's!
1. Gene's game
2. Stupid bird's
3. The tin toy
4. One man band
5. Mater and the ghost light
6. Knick knack
7. Jack, Jack attack
8. Boundin
9. Luxo jr.
10.Mike's new car
11. Red's dream
12. Andie and Wally B.
13. Ckicked tennis (commercial)
These were FUN to watch!

I'll post more later, still many things to do today.
Oh SNAP! LOL! time to vacuume the house too!

Monday is here!

Well, it is Monday and you know what that mean's don't you? YUP! back to cleaning things up!
My list for the day:
Get the checks for the bill's done
Stop at the post office and send them out
Stop at city hall and pay income tax
Stop at insurance agency and pay insurance
Sort through my "library" and get rid of the books I don't need
Wipe down the dirty bookshelves
Drop of the sorted book at Goodwill
Rake and take care of the leaves in at least half of the back Yard
Go through the china cabinet and clean out the ANCIENT paper's (HA! FOUND MY CLASS RING! hadn't seen it in TEN years!).....and YES it is tight now! LOL!
That is going to be it for most of the day, I have a HUGE yard for being in the city, the back yard is 80'x140' and I did almost two thirds of it before I was spent! LOL!
I was WAY glad to find a Sobe adrenaline rush in my fridge today! I NEEDED IT!
I should head off for now, I still have some piddling to do, nothing huge, I just need a couple of things.
Have a GREAT one!!

A change of plans

It seems that we will NOT be able to install the furnace in my brothers house, apparently if it is NOT done by a professional the home insurance company doesn't have to cover any major issue's (blame it on a bad install) SO it will be professionally done now.
The outside pf the house if finished now, I finished it today after repairing my garden hose, two hoses had broken ends (one male, one female, go figure?) so after I fixed the hoses I fired the power washer up and there were TWO more small holes in one of the hoses, same spot, so I moved a splice and NOW there are NO holes in the hose! LOL
I didn't plan on working ALL day today, but when I couldn't do the furnace I started on the other projects around the house.

Dried a load of laundry
Mopped the back room
Mopped the back entry
Vacuumed the house (Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, spare bedroom, frontroom)
Finished power washing the outside of the house
Trimmed a shrub out back

I'm not listing things to show off, it's the only way I can remember what I've done sometimes! LOL!
I guess I should head off for now, nothing really to do, although a cup of coffee does sound good?
Later all!

Visitors in the yard

I went out the back door around 7:40 this morning, there was a large doe and a fawn in my lower back yard! COOL! it took me a minute to see the doe, she watched me back for a secong and then walked away slowly, I stood there for a couple of minutes and then only did I see the fawn, I must have interested that fawn, it stayed for a few minutes after it's mom left. I'm going to find out how much a salt lick and maybe some field corn would cost? I like seeing the deer in my yard! and since I live in town (a BLOCK from the junior high, right off M-21!) there's NO hunting here! so I get to enjoy the deer.
There is a few things I can get done today, I need to drive a vehicle to auto-zone and find out why the check engine light is on (Auto-zone will read the codes for FREE folks!) and I can go from there, the turbo diesel sputters in higher rev's, but runs fine other than that? a sensor out maybe? could be?
The Acer One I've been playing with now has a name! JUNIOR! LOL! he's just a little fella! no new mod's there, haven't had time to mess with it? I will admit that upgrading the hard drive to a 7200Rpm, 16Mb. drive is on my mind......it would provide a NICE performance boost. The though of upgrading the CPU is nice, HOWEVER this netbook has the CPU soldered right to the mother board, so that is a no-go.
I guess I should head off for now, coffee, dishes and balancing my checkbook are in the near future for me.
Later!
OK! so it is LATER!! I once again spent the day being OC on the house and yard, I did a load of laundry, raked the upeer back yard to the base of the hill, mowed it then furtalized the front and upper yards, THEN I borrowed a power washer and power washed the car and truck and MOST of the house (I ran out of garden hose and could not reach the rest!) I also washed the window in the room that is attached to the back of the house, that way I can see the deer better tomorrow morning if they decide to visit my yard.
My 89 year old neighbor passed away recently and her daughters are taking care of things, it is amazing how trusting people can still be these day's? one of them let me keep the power washer in my house to make sure that it does not freeze on a cold night, this is a nice washer? and they barely know me? I guess the world might be better than I thought? COOL!
I am GLAD it was such a NICE day! I was able to get plenty done, the list grows smaller each day!
Tomorrow promisses to be an interesting day, my brother has asked me to help install a furnace for him, while I have never installed one I will make the attempt, HEY! I might succeed!
OK, this time I am off for the night! REALLY I AM!!
Have a GREAT one!!!!

O.C. over the moon

With all the spare time I have now I am letting myself go back to being WAY O.C.! the house, the yard, the outside of the house! GAK! LOL!
I started doing things around the house at 10:00am and FINALY finished what I wanted to get done at 7:30pm! YEESH! BUT I feel good?
Straightened my bedroom (needed a little help)
A load of laundry
2 oil changes and a lube job (Mom and Dad's vehicles)
Cleaned all the rain gutters on my house
Cleaned the MESS up under the sink
Cleaned under the island counter
Mopped the laundry room
Mopped the back entry
Picked up air filters and a fuel filter for a vehicle
Air filters and fuel filter on a Ford turbo diesel (GAK! 3 hours!)
Raked the front yard
Bought a new set of ramps (Mom's van crushed my old set! EEP!)
Went to dinner at Mom's house

CRIMANY! must be I was stressed? got a TON done though? LOL!
I guess I need to find a new way to relaxe?
Have a GREAT one!

Runnin 'round

While I haven't been out 'n about lately I have PLENTY here to get done, it was another "drag out the trash day! LOL
The house is starting to look OK? the hidden mess's in the house are dissapearing steadily, the house is becoming home again.
I haven't seen the deer in my back yard in a couple of day's now, we'll probably scare the SNOT out of each other again! LOL!
It is supposed to be a nice day today, plenty to get done! oil changes, fuel filters....who knows what else the day will bring?
I should head off for now, a second cup of coffee is calling me!

Heat, doe's and the Acer One

I stepped outside early today and scared the living daylight's out of three doe's and a fawn that were snacking in my backyard, I had seen a doe in my yard a few weeks ago, but didn't think there would be that many! WOW! and yes! they scared me just as much as I did them, I had no idea they were even there till they took off.
I also realize how grateful I am for heat, at 7:30 it was only 27 out, and it was COLD! the house is only at 60 for now, I will need to turn it up in the coming weeks, but for now 60 is just fine, the sun warms the place up if I open the curtains up, wish I had a solar heater, I'd save some BIG bucks on heating cost's then.
Week three and I am still cleaning around the house, the place is really taking shape? The list I had is getting smaller and smaller now, the little "messes" that I had missed or overlooked for so long quickly disappearing and clean replacing them.
Two closets , the back room, the bookshelves in the front room, cleaning in the bathroom, the backyard, clean out the gutters on the house, and the BIGGIE!! clean out the storage room attached to the back of the house! GAK! there is a FEW hours of work there! mostly getting it straight, only a little junk needs to be picked up there.
That Acer One that I was playing with the other day, I thought of another mod that could be done to it! upgrade the speakers! the one's that came with it REALLY could use some help! I don't expect it to sound like a home stereo, but CRIMANY! they don't sound very good at all! time to think about that one!
1. Upgrade speakers
2. Install blue tooth
3. Install a 3G card
4. Upgrade the ram (DONE!)
5. Upgrade the hard drive to a 160Gb. 7200Rpm. 16Mb. cache drive (A BIG performance increase!)
6. Install a touch screen onto the LCD
7. ANY other cool mods I can find
There could be a BUNCH of mods for this netbook, just need to research and find them, that would give me something to do after all.
Wednesday and Thursday we are supposed to hit 60, one of those day's I have an ALL day project waiting for me, not here at the house, but an all day project just the same. I can use the projects right now, and as I've said, I have PLENTY of free time right now.
Have a great one all!

Acer one ram upgrade

The Acer One!

Keyboard removedPalmrest removedMother board, HDD, Daughter board removed
The underside of the mother board, and the hidden ram slot
The pictures belong to tnkgrl, that is where I found the GREAT instructions on how to tear this one down. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tnkgrl/

I talked quickly yesterday about tearing apart a perfectly good netbook, it was the only way to upgrade the ram in the system. You literally have to remove the Motherboard to install the ram module into its hidden socket, no bottom access.
This is as I said a "Netbook" no optical drive installed, it is not a replacement for a laptop or desktop computer, it is made for portability.
While looking for more information on this little netbook, I discovered there is quite the "moder" following with the Acer One's, blue tooth, touch screen, SSD to Pata mini-drive, SATA H.D. upgrades, 3G, Keyboard lights, lights shining on the keyboard.... CRIMANY! LOTS to look at with this little netbook.
There are some REALLY cool mods out there! got to keep an eye out for them!
Later all!

Me~~

Going for a ride

I went with my brother to pick up a furnace today, a little older, but it seems to be in good condition. Not sure if I can install this one or not, looking into it though.
So there's not much going on here really, time to relaxe for a bit I guess. I'm trying to stay busy until there is some confirmation on what will happen in the next couple of months, something soon I hope, setting around BITES.
The weather seems a bit fickle lately, a few warm day's would be enjoyed, MANY things could be done in only a couple of 60 degreee day's.
Later for now, I'm tearing a new toy apart...REALLY! and NOTHING is wrong with it! LOL! (you'd have to know me)

Me~~

Yes! I do windows

I cleaned all the windows in the house today, inside and out! Next time I will be sure to use a NON-streaking formula! GAK! I ended up doing one set of windows out front like four times before I got rid of MOST of the streaks! YEESH!
I still haven't finished updating my resume, it looks WAY better than before, but needs improvment. The cover letter will come next, seems like that may end up being quite a chore according to what I am seeing? No time like the present though, SO! Off I go!
I attempted to repair an old laptop yesterdaqy also, I thought the LCD cover that was here would work just fine, SEE what I get for thinking! turns out the LCD cover was for a 12" LCD not the 14" that I needed.......AH WELL.....I'll find one!
Speaking of laptops! the Acer 5100 that I have came with an AMD TL-52, 2Gb. of ram and a 160Gb. 5400Rpm. 8Mb. cash hard drive. I have been looking at upgrading the Acer to: AMD TL-64, 4Gb. of ram and a 320GB. 7200Rpm. 16Mb. cache hard drive (the 4Gb. of ram is there already) what would this do for me? WELL! I would go from 1600X2 to 2200X2 processor speed, double the installed ram, ad that 7200Rpm. 16Mb. hard drive and all together that would give me desktop performance in a laptop! I'd be getting speeding tickets on the internet! COOL!
Can't do the processor now though, those STUPID things are EXPENSIVE yet! with no job I can't put that kind of money out, the hard drive though might be an option, it is a very reasonable price and reasonable rules for now.
So I was working in the yard today trimming my bushed down and what did I find you ask? FIVE trees growing in them! they grew up 10 feet in one NIGHT! I know they weren't there yesterday! LOL! I spent about 6 hours on the front yard today, there is PLENTY to do around here for sure, and I'm up to the challenge!
I reclaimed the sidewalk yesterday, today I reclaimed the curb, the grass had grown nearly over both? go figure! I want grass to grow in the lawn and where does it grow best you ask? on the CONCRETE! YEESH!
So much more to get accomplished yet. good thing I have the time to get it done!
Have a GREAT one everyone!

Still TRYING to stay busy!

I am still trying to stay busy, finding thing's to do and thing's that need to get done. I repalced a stabilizer rod and did a brake job on a minivan yesterday, wouldn't you know it, as soon as I removed the tire it started to rain lightly! HA! figures! That did not stop me though! I finished the job I started!
I managed to pay off the Stratus today, I could not have done that without the help of God, even with losing my job to the economy, things have so far went well believe it or not, I do have my rough day's (YESTERDAY!) but I get over them and trudge on through life.

Phi. 4:13 I can do all thing's with Christ who is in me........more than just a Bible verse folk's, it is a way to live life

No big projects to get done today, vacuume the house, do the dishes, make the bed, do a load of laundry, pick up the house...the norm now here at my home.
Oh yes! I can't forget "Get a cup of coffee!"
Have a great one everybody!

10 day's

So it's been ten day's now and believe it or now I am actualy doing well? go figure? it is one of three things for sure!
1. I trust that God will provide for me.
2. I am numb and live in the state of denial
3. I am too STUPID to figure it out.

I spent the week staying busy, it keeps my mind off not having a job now. I posted some of what I've been up to already.
1. A MAJOR house cleaning, not even CLOSE to being done
2. Detailed my car
3. Working on a computer
4. Put a started in a truck
5. Working on a resume
6. Working on a cover letter
7. Scouring the internet for information
8. Fixed a broken seat in a van
9. Steam cleaned my parents carpets

So even though I've been busy there is PLENTY to do yet! I haven't even touched the yard yet and I'm sure there's work there also.
My house wasn't trashed or wasted in any way, I just have a habbit of collecting clutter and at the moment I'm getting rid of that clutter.
I have a couple of parts that need to be installed on the bravada yet also, an idler arm and a fuel filter, get the cover letter written, continue to update my resume, more cleaning in my home........YUP! PLENTY to get done yet, and I NOW have the time.

My priority this week will be finishing my resume and creating a cover letter, I need to get this done for sure. I've never written a cover letter before, but for some reason it is important, SO! it's getting done.
Later for now!

Saturday

So it is once again Saturday! I am going to take the weekend of from cleaning! I didn't believe that I could find so much to to in the house, but I have! and there is MORE! EEP! LOL! I have been in the house now for 13 years, I am finding there are spots in the house that I haven't touched in YEARS! NO kidding! I've been fighting ninja dust bunnies for day's now! LOL! Time for the weekend.
I am at the moment also searching the internet for information that will let me gain more knowledge on the Microsoft office system, in the last 10 month's I have already increased my knowledge exponentionaly, but there is PLENTY more that I need to learn so that I will be more effective in my next position. The internet is the place to start, you can find anything you want there.

Michworks

I spent an hour or so at Michworks today inputing my resume into the system, I did not think ahead and bring my resume with me so I will need to access the system later to update the information.
I do not believe that there will be any companies looking for the position that i had held until recently, the job market is horrible at the moment! I hope something comes my way soon though, or I will go stir crazy cooped up in this house! LOL!
As I said before, there is only so much cleaning that can be done to a house, while I have mor eto do I will run out soon, I could get some painting done? I have the paint already and now the time also? HMMMmm.... that could work?
I should take the coupe out for a ride along with my camera, some fall pictures would be nice, and it would give me something to do also.
Later for now Y'all!

A cleaning FREAK!!

It seems I am turning into a cleaning FREAK! no kidding! I steam cleaned the frontroom, both bedrooms and the bathroon yesterday, then did the kitchen/dining room early this morning, THEN took the steam cleaner over to Mom's and did her front room and dining room also! After I dropped off the cleaner I went home and mopped my laundry room and back entry, the place is starting to look really nice! I can deal with that!
One of the projects I wanted to do this year that I WON'T be able to get sone was installing a solar heating panel, maybe next year! I'd love to be able to heat the house like that! or at least reduce my heating cost's.
Speaking of heating, I'll be turning on the heat tonight, I have the house open so the carpets will dry and it is getting rather cool in here now! TOO cool as a matter of fact! I wish it was as nice as it look's outside at the moment! the sun is shining brightly! MORE sunshine PLEASE!
I have NO idea what I want for dinner tonight? Guess I'll see when I get there?
Later for now!

Me~~

Still cleaning!

Yeah, I am still lceaning the house up! It is like I was in some type of coma or something? I have been cleaning the house for the last three day' s now and there is more to do yet! GAK! sooner or later I will need to take a short break from it.
My day consisted of getting trash tag's, trash bag's, renting a steam cleaner, getting the cleaning supplies I needed and then cleaning the carpets in the house. What a difference there is in the carpet! CRIMANY! talk about cleaner! YEESH! so yep! the house is looking mUCH better now!
I'm thinking that next week I may start on the outside of the house, I'm sure if I take a good enough look I will find a TON of things that need to be done, YUP! sprong cleaning in the fall! LOL!
The main reason I'm staying so busy is that I don't think about losing my job then, yeah, I will need to be busy for a while now.
Time for me to head off once again, I want to go through a closet to see if there is anything I can get rid of!
Later all!

Me~~
Lousy stock market! LOL! There must be a whole load of drama queens over there! WATCH IT GUY'S! a cricket just passed gas sideways! SOMETHING BIG might happen!!! LOL!

Staying busy and the dow.

Day four of not having a job, I decided that instead of setting around on my bottom I would make an attempt to stay busy. Saturday I detailed my stratus, wash wax, vacuum and steam clean the interior, that took me a while to get accomplished, it was dirtier than it looked.
Sunday I made a quick repair on the Church van, the passenger seat backrest is broke so it will not stay in one position, it only took about ten minutes and a bolt to take care of that.
Monday I started in on the house:

The vacuum needed repaired (new belt) then I vacuumed the whole house,

Washed the dishes,

Cleaned the counters, the stove and the sink,
Did a load of laundry,

Picked up the front room, kitchen and bedroom,

Went through my dirty old stained work clothes and threw them out (Round two, the closets are next!)

Then I went to the store:

Bought two new pillows, (For $5 at Walmart you can get a 100% cotton pillow!! and it IS firm!)

Two new $5 phone (my old one broke, and I didn't have one in the bedroom)

New reflector pans for my electric stove (The other one's were getting rusty BAD!)

and picked up a few other very needed things.

I also stopped at the local auto parts store and picked up a new fuel filter for the Bravada, it's kinda running funny, and that is the one part I had NOT replaced.

Now to the Dow!!!! HOLY MOLY BATMAN!!!!!!!!!! did anyone else see how much the Dow went UP? +936.42!! YES!! I can deal with that!!!! and GAS went down to $2.99!!! I may have been let go, but at least SOME good things are happening!!!!
The Dow went up 11% in ONE day! a few more trading day's like this and I will truly be a happy camper!

What to do today? I need to stop off at the old plant to ask a couple of questions, then file for unemployment, then update my resume, then more house work (my new O.C. thing) then install a starter in a truck (been trying to do that for over a week) then who knows what?
Like I said, my house is my new O.C. there is PLENTY around here to do! like...
Steam clean ALL the carpets
Pull all the books off my bookshelf and clean and paint it
Clean the "computer room" (spare bedroom)
Paint the front room
Paint the bedroom (after putting in a new closet door)
Paint all the trim
Paint the bathroom
Clean and straighten the laundry room and paint it
Get two new shades for the two lamps in the front room
Clean out the five closets in my house
Clean out the backroom, it needs it in a BIG way!
There are SO many things I can get done right now, and for now I have the time to get them done.
You would NOT think that i would be SO busy not having a job? not true! I have time now to look and see what things around the house need to get done, LOTS to get done!
Later all!

Still here

I'm hoping to find another job here in town very soon, I don't like having time off and no job is NO fun.
There are a couple of options that I may have, I just need to find out what they are.
I guess I'll see!
With the spare time I have now I am going through the house and cleaning the heck out of it! I was working 11 hours a day and had missed a WHOLE lot around the house, time to clean it up!
Time to head off for now.

Later all!

Last day at work

Today was my last day at work, I had NO idea this was coming, not until it was over anyhow! 16 years, 4 month's and 10 day's........................a big thankyou to those who are ruining our country and economy, I am the latest victim of your greed.
I will be able to come back IF they need me, they will NOT need me in the time frame that I can return. What can I say, this is NOT God's fault, God does not walk away from us, WE walk away from God, that is a fact.
What is it that will keep me going? look below!

Psa 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I should head off for now, NOTHING to do, just need to rest my mind.

Sumer is officially over

Yes, it is official, summer is over! I finished putting the trailer up this weekend, while it does need to be cleaned some yet, it looks great for the most part.
I am a bit torn this year, one part of me is not ready to put the trailer up and the other is? go figure? With the extra time I had this weekend I cleaned the house up some, the place looks kind of nice? HUH?
One of the campers at the lake has some real talent, I don't know what his name is but this guy can take a chain saw and carve some really cool things with it! he carved a bear holding a sign, and owl and three bears standing on each others shoulders, all very cool!
I still need to get a picture of the bears standing on each others shoulders, that one was being completed this weekend.
So what will the project for the winter season be? I have NO idea! I had messed around with a couple of different Linux programs, but was dissatisfied with them, they weren't complete and compatibility was an issue. Maybe build a new desktop? nah, can't justify the money to do it. SO! I have NO idea what I will do this winter? other than repaint the inside of the house? THAT might be the project I'm looking for!
I guess I should head off for now, coffee's calling me!

The clone wars!

I fought the clone wars and I WON! LOL!
I managed to clone the hard drive in my laptop yesterday, I installed the drive today and it worked like a charm, no problems at all! SWEET!
I also cloned my sisters hard drive and installed a 120Gb. drive into it, THAT one however did not go without issues. After the cloning process was finished I installed it and fired the laptop up and ran the operating system, I changed the drive letter without re-booting which TOTALY freaked the laptop out and crashed the drive, so I had to clone it again! DOH! the second time however went MUCH better! it is up and running like a charm! Acronis migrate easy 7.0 is the software, not bad at all!
Later all!

Risky buisness

I'm taking my sanity into my own hands at the moment, I picked up a 250Gb. drive for my laptop and at the moment I am cloning it! I HOPE the new drive will start right up!! REALLY! or I'll have to switch back to the old one.
The connection style my laptop uses is scsi and it needs a file downloaded before the drive is recognized, I'm hoping that file is cloned also, I'd hate to get it all done and find out that the new drive does NOT work! GAK!! LOL!
Going from 160Gb. to 250Gb. will be NICE! MUCH more storage to fill!
Time ot head off for now!

Monday

It is once again Monday, my hours for the week have changed, nothing big but it gives me a little more sleep in the morning which is a good thing.
I will be at the lake one more time to clean, the trailer needs a whole lot of work before I can put it up for it's winter rest, too many to list at the moment. Time to clean!
So what will my winter project be? I have NO idea!!! but I need to find something to do that will keep my mind busy! a laptop or two? a new desktop? remodel the inside of my home? who knows? but it must be SOMETHING!
Later for now!!

Still kicking~!

Yeha, I'm still kicking, just trying to enjoy the last few moments of summer. This was the last camping weekend (Going to try and sneak another in yet!) and I am NOT ready to put up my trailer or stop playing at the lake! it was a very nice summer indeed, there were many fun weekends that I can think of, but not enough by any mean's.
I have a couple of small projects to get done on the Bravada yet, an idler arm and I think I might have a work universal joint in the front end, I'm noticing a vibration in the front end that is not the tires, guess I'll need to take a look.
I may put the Stratus up for sale, it just set's for most of the time now that the Bravada is road worthy and I don't want it to just set.
I should head off for now, I'll post more later!

"Get my GOOD profile" said the frog!

100_3957

That's what I think he said anyhow? this fellow was only an inch long, but I managed to get a nice shot of him anyhow. It seems there is an abundance of wildlife at the lake this season, each week there is some new critter making its way through the campgrounds, I don't mind though.
I didn't get much accomplished today, I woke with a migraine that fortunately did not last long after I took the med's for it. I did manage to make up some cornbread for dinner though, I'd been craving it for day's! it was worth the wait!
Time for me to head off!
Later all!

Two more weekends!

As sad as it is I must report that there are only two more weekends to camp, fall is here, the leaves are now slowly starting to turn their earthy colors, the sun is rising and setting later and the evenings here are slowly getting cooler, yes, fall is here.
I knew fall was close and so do the animals, the Canadian geese arrived three weekends ago, about one hundred of them total. I decided to get a picture of the geese and instead scared them ALL of with the snap of a twig, I'll have to watch out for those twigs next time I see the geese here.
I have two favorite time of year, spring and fall. I enjoy the warm days and cool night's of both seasons, I sleep better, I do not however feel better, my allergies tear me up terribly until the first late fall freeze hits us.
I woke today at 6am near freezing, I had forgot to turn on the furnace in my trailer, when I did turn it on I discovered that BOTH of my propane tanks were empty, I was lucky though, I keep a 20Lb. tank at the lake to refill the 1Lb. bottles my grill uses, so I hooked that tank up and turned on the heat! I feel MUCH better now thank you!
I will find out tomorrow about an opportunity, it will be a last minute deal that could be interesting? nothing permanent, just something temporary. I guess I'll have to wait and see?
I should head off for now, I need to get myself another cup of coffee and find my sinus pills.
Later all!

SUNSHINE!!!!

Check this beast out! cool eh?

YUP! there was sunshine here in town today! how nice is that? Three full day's without a minute of sunshine! GAK! no more of that please!
The last three day's have flown right on by lots of little things to get done at work right now even though things are slow.
I hope to get to the lake this weekend and camp! I haven't been up in two weeks now and I want to PLAY BAD!! REALLY bad! LOL!
I should head off for now, even I can see that I am getting boring here!

Rain, pictures and the E-coat conference

I had plans to work on a motor home today, but the rain here has taken care of that! I just can't work in the mud! NASTY!
The E-coat conference I attended this week was quite interesting as I posted a couple of days ago, I'd like to find more information on what I learned there. The scientific end of E-coating is VERY interesting! The chemical reactions, how PH affects the pretreatment and coating process, the two types of phosphate crystals available (Phosphophyllite and hopeite) even the terms used are interesting.
I have a list of terms that I am going to find definitions for:
Electrodeposition
Electroendomosis
Electrophoresis
Pseudomonus
Electrolysis
Emulsification
Eductors
Immulsability..............
And that is only the beginning! Could this be a new direction to go? NO idea! but it is interesting!
Right now the economy is tough so my company isn't paying for any classes, as soon as they do I will be taking them, I'm getting hyper again! LOL!
HA! you would laugh if you could see how bad spell check flipped out on the scientific terms! LOL!
My aunt called me last night and asked for my pictures from the family reunion, I of course said I'd drop them off and I also offered her both of my sisters pictures also. I went down and dropped them off and picked up the pictures that one of my cousins had taken, I look at it this way, if I missed a picture someone else had to have taken it! there were six cameras taking pictures there! I still need to get the pictures from one of my aunts and a cousin then get them out to everyone.

Gas prices

The first thing I heard today when I woke up was that gas prices could go up as much as $.30 a gallon! the annoying part of that is that wholesale gas is at $2.72 a gallon, add $.50 is Michigan state taxes and gas SHOULD be @ $3.22 a gallon, but where are we? $3.89! GAK! which means that gas station owners are making $.77 a gallon in proffit! it gas goes up to $4.20 a gallon they will be making $.98 a gallon proffit........GREEDY so and so's anyhow!
During April of this year oil was at $102 a barrel and gas was at $3.15..........who's gouging us now?

On my way

For the last three day's I've been in Madison Heights setting in on a conference for work, I'll be home tonight which will be a good thing! I'm lookin forward to sleeping in my own bed once again!
I've been looking for a new direction to go at work, I think I may have found that direction? I just need to get some more information on what it is I THINK I would like to do?
Fun, fun!
Later all!!!!

SO! it's later and I'm home now, it feels GOOD! as I said while the conference was nice I am glad to be in my small home town.
I need to still put the new caliper frame and slides on the Bravada, the stupid thing is still sticking on me! DOH! this should take care of it.

Family reunion 2

I talked about the family reunion Saturday, it was really nice to see the family again. None of the family had gotten together since my Grandma passed away six years ago, quite a long time indeed.
The family met at an Uncles house in the country, he has a real nice piece of propery that is carved right out of the woods, there was a TON of good food and one of those inflatable bouncy rooms also, the hit of the day however was the quads my Uncle has, three of them total that the kids (young and old) went nutt's over. There hadn't been any plans to get the quads out, it was an afterthought that turned out to be great! The adults took turns riding the kids around my Uncles property and hitting the trail on their own, SO much fun!
My Aunt and Uncle drove up from Owosso this weekend also, I hadn't seen them in quite a few months, I was glad to see they were doing well.
I should head off for now, things to do befroe I can head off!

Family reunion

Hello all! My family had a reuinion today, I hadn't seen some of my cousins in 14 years! HOLY COW! some of them have teenagers now! WHEN did that happen? I will post more pictures tomorrow, this is one of the quads I rode at the reunion, one of them went 67MPH! YES! I DID get one going that fast! LOL It was AWESOME!!!! and NO! I didn't go over 15MPH with any of the kids riding with me.

Brake information

This is no little fella, he is 6" long! HUGE! LOL someone at work showed him to me and I took a quick picture.
I have been working on the Bravada's brakes for a while now, for some reason they are "mushy" I called the dealership yeaterday and asked about power bleeding, I thought I might have air in the ABS valves. I know that the rear calipers are more than likely siezed up and the dealer told me that this may also cause the brakes to have that "mushy" feeling, so this weekend I will be taking the rear calipers off and cleaning up the slides to see if this will cure my brake issue's. It will need to be completed Friday, I am still helping out with a motor home that needs a new exhaust manifold installed in it.
Later for now!

Me~~

HEY! It's later! The caliper slides were INDEED the problem with the brakes on the Bravada! One of the drives side slide's was rusted solid, I was able to get that one free, the other side HOWEVER was a different story! I BROKE that side! DOH! SO I ended up replacing both rotors, the brake pads, a caliper frame and two slide bolt's! BUT!!!!!!!!!I now have AWESOME brakes! YES!!! LOL!!!
I'M DONE!!! THE BRAVADA IS DONE!!! YES!!! WHOOPIE!!! LOL!!
Later all!

Four day's off.

This is the first tree at the lake that has started turning colors, fall is here! EEP!

So I am on my fourth day off now, I have enjoyed most every bit of it, except the migraine of course!
I did manage to enjoy the time I had off, even though there were a few projects to complete along the way, it seems like there is always something to get done each weekend, but I am not complaining, it IS done after all.
If you read this Blog then you know that I enjoy bluegrass and cowboy music VERY much, this weekend the C.D. player in my trailer has gone non-stop, playing cowboy music, Don Edwards, The Son's of the San Joaquin. Michael Martin Murphy, and a few others who I cannot name at the moment. Listening to music relaxes me quite a bit, and makes me feel better too!
Overall the weekend has went well, no major issues, no loud music, no partying, nothing but enjoyment! The sad part is that this must end in the next few weeks, 31 days-15 hours-and a few minutes left till the season ends, a sad prospect indeed.
It is surprising how much easier it is to work on Moms van or Dads truck when it is right next door at the lake, after camping season ends it becomes more difficult to accomplish, but it does get done.
I missed Church this week, the first time in month's! I missed it because of a record breaking migraine, the worst one I'd have this year so far, I took the sinus med's twice and pain reliever and it did not take it totally away like normal and it left me exhausted for the day, no more of those please!
I should head off for now, my coffee is calling me gently, asking me to finish it before it becomes cold.
Later all!
By the way, here is another little critter that came my way over the weekend.

Bird show at the lake

Tonight at the lake there was a bird show, while there were only two birds both were beautiful! there was a Alaskan bald eagle and a horned own, both were great!

I had no idea that it was illegal to even posses an eagle feather? how unfortunate that is? apparently the eagle was hunted for it's feathers and now I can't even take one that the bird lost, sad.
Two posts in one day? a busy day, but a decent one.

Mud wasp nest

The family camping behind Mom and Dad told me about this HUGE mud wasp hive in the tree on their lot, once I had seen it I knew I wanted to get some pictures of it before someone knock's it down.
I had never seen one myself (other than pictures) so I grabbed my camera and snapped away. The structure of the hive is amazing! as large as it is it seems like it would have taken forever to complete! but apparently not? it was built in only a week or so! VERY COOL!
100_3587 100_3588

 100_3583 100_3584

100_3577b

So how cool is this?! While the mud wasps that it contain can be a MAJOR pain, what they created is amazing! just think of building a house and only being able to bring in a handful of mud at a time! the thought is overwhelming! and yet these little wasps managed to complete the task! WOW!
Oh yeah! YES! I enjoy taking pictures outdoors! LOL!
I woke up early but went right back to bed, that migraine I talked about yesterday? it was "The big one!" while I woke up early, I went right back to bed after taking more medicine and slept till one o'clock in the afternoon and still felt bad! LOL! at least it is only a headache now, I can deal with that.
Have a great one!

Me~~

So it Saturday?

It was another awesome day! kicking back and having a bit of fun is always nice! I'd like a couple of more please?
There was another roaring campfire tonight as well, I started one and when it got going my niece came over for a peak at it and stayed for a while and enjoyed it's warmth.
It is going to be a not so fun night, I have a major migraine starting up at the moment and the medicine is not working at the moment at all EEP! This one is going to be a bad one, one of those sick to my stomach, shaking, wipe me out, pain from my head and down through my neck and shoulder one's, STINK!
Later for now!

Me~~

Sparkplug's!

I managed to get the sparkplug's done FINALLY! It took me about an hour to change five of the six plug's, number six however was not nearly as easy to get to, it took me almost two hours to get that one! After I put the plug socket on the sparkplug there was not even a half of an inch between it and the steering column GAK! I ended up using a swivel head extension to get to it, now the tune-up is complete and the truck runs MUCH better!
This is a picture of one of the plug's I pulled out of the engine, I think that it was the original set? and the Bravada has 125,000 miles on it! YEESH!

100_3561
I did make one boo-boo though! I wanted to clean the intake, well! I disconnected a couple of hoses and started the Bravada up, and MAN did that thing run BAD! CRIMANY! I put it back together! I'll clean it up later on! LOL!!
Sis made dinner at the lake for us all, beef stroganoff! YUMM!!!!
so the day ended up VERY well!
Later all! it is the first day of the holiday weekend and it went GREAT!

Mom in the hospital

Hey all, Mom went into the hospital yesterday afternoon because of high blood pressure, it was like 193/160 and the doctors did not like that at all!
She is doing better today and her blood pressure is better also, she had a few tests done and will get the results tomorrow for sure! hopefully she will be going home tomorrow also, guess we'll see then?
I'll head off for now!

SORRY! I didn't post this, but Mom was released Thursday morning, not sure what the issue was but she is doing MUCH better now.

September

September already promises to be a busy month for me, I am making plans already for what is to come! nothing bad, just busy!
Yesterday was a LONG day! I was only able to get two hours of sleep that night and it showed! While I made it through the day I ended up taking an hour nap when I got out of work just to survive the rest of the evening.
Switching from second shift back to first takes its toll on me, I woke at 3:30am and went to bed at 9:00pm, it will take a couple of days to get used to that!
I am looking forward to the weekend, it will be a four day one! although two projects have already popped up for me already, one is the rear brakes on an S10 the other is either an exhaust donut or exhaust manifold on a motor home, I hope it is the exhaust donut! MUCH easier to replace.
I believe it is once again time to turn off the fans in the house overnight! I woke to a house that was at 59 degrees! and while I DO enjoy the cooler temperatures I do NOT enjoy waking up to 59! EEP! it took a couple of cups of HOT coffee to warm me back up, no more of that thank you!
Time for me to head off for now, things to do as always!

Cowboy dreams

100_3429

OK, so it sounds a bit silly (the blog title) but it is true, I was having cowboy dreams at the lake tonight, a GREAT campfire, a cool evening, a nice snack, the crickets and tree frogs singing in the woods, too bad there is only five weeks left to camp! OH MAN!
I was able to get that laptop I was working on going tonight, it ran GREAT! UNTIL I delivered it to the owner! MAN! back to not working! I think the battery may be bad and shorting out the laptop somehow? I guess I'll see in the morning?
It is time for me to end this for now, it is late and I am tired, not enough coffee? ya!
Later all!

And here we are! $3432 and 30 or so hours into the old girl with the cost of the vehicle, not bad eh? this Bravada books at $5850, not bad at all! there would have been no way I could have afforded this at a dealer, I am making payments on my Stratus yet, God is good!
I MAY end up replacing the front half shafts yet, there is something binding in the front end once in a while, not a HUGE cost though.

Project Bravada continues, still a bit of brake work to do then it will be hopefully done!! I want to finish it before winter, I'd rather not be laying in the snow to work on it!
Later all!!!

A deer in the yard!

I went to get a cup of coffee early today and happened to see this deer in my back yard, I wasn't able to get a better picture, it started raining again and she headed for the woods! I hope to see her again soon! I'd like a better picture of her.
It is the WEEKEND! YES!! I'll be having some fun soon I hope!
Time for me to head off for now! MORE coffee coming!

Later!

That time again! YES!

YUP! it's that time again! time for the weekend to start! I haven't decided if I am going out tonight or not, guess I'll see how the night goes?

I am going to revisit a laptop I thought had a bad mother board, I read a couple of posts on line that point to a bad lid switch? that would make the back light not come on! I HOPE that IS the problem. I'd been messing with this computer for a while now, fixing it would be NICE!
Other than having a MAJOR brain fart last night the week has went well for me, the day has went FAST! I hope the rest of the night goes as fast!
The garden will give up some nice tomato's tomorrow, I'm looking forward to them! YUM!
Time for me to head off for now, lunch is almost over.

DEFINITELY Monday!

Today was definitely Monday! HOLY MOLY! LOL! As always no major complaints! I AM working after all! the day just had me going "WHAT THE?" and "HUH?"
Sis sent over a piece of home made blueberry pie tonight! OH YUMMY! I'd like MORE! BUT! alas, there is none, I ate mine up! DOH!
So anyhow, there is another project that I've been working on lately, I THINK I am finished with it at the moment, I just need to have it looked at to see if it is what it should be, right!

This is a nice picture! I'd like more of these, with the sun shining through, nice.
Time to head off for now, it's late and I am actually tired.
Later all!

Sunday morning at the lake

It is such a NICE morning at the lake! OH MAN! since fall is near it is a cool clear morning, all of the animals are slowly waking up, even the crickets haven't gone to sleep yet, so pleasant.
Yesterday at the lake there was quite a bit going on, golf cart races, the drivers were blindfolded with someone else giving them directions! HA! WAY too funny! (I wonder how that worked for the husband wife teams?!)
Later in the day there was a appreciation dinner put on by Jack and Carol Forward (the owners of the lake) that is always nice! I did not go this year, I had a really late lunch and was still full.
Friday my sister a friend and I went walking in the woods and I found these interesting tree's! all wound up on each other? cool eh?

100_3360
So strange? I'd liked to have gotten a better picture of this, maybe next weekend?
100_3389
I had a nice campfire this weekend also, I can't believe how fast the summer has gone? I'm working four day's a week now and it STILL went sailing right by? go figure? At least the campfire was warm and inviting!
I slept well last night, there was not a single sound other than the wildlife ALL night! SO nice! NO radio's at 1:30am! The camper that made the noise the night before was much more considerate last night, no noise at all.
I started drawing again, boy do I need some practice, but I am a bit older now and I want to do it now, I guess that's the difference?
I should head off for now, I want another cup of coffee already!
Have a great one!
Later all!

The van, truck and critters!!

So last night didn't go all that well at the lake, around 1:30am I was woke by some drunk IDIOT turning up his music, it took me about ten seconds to stick my head out the door and yell at the DORK! LOL! the music went right off and stayed off for the rest of the night.
I had a couple of minor projects planned for the day, the rubber step pad on the passenger side of Mom's van had come off (fortunately they grabbed it up!)  and Dad's driver side door vent shield was coming loose (I took that off so it would not get lost!) anywho! I picked up some double sided tape and some Isopropyl alcohol and fixed that step pad, while repairing it I noticed the front step pad was coming loose, so I fixed that also and ran out of double sided tape! DOH! Dad will have to wait till next weekend to get his vent shield put back on, too late to get any more tape today. OH YES! the third and LAST step pad is getting loose too! YEESH! LOL! next weekend I will be doing this once again!
For dinner today we had leftover meatloaf sandwiches (OH MOMMA!) fresh tomato's, cherry tomato's and cucumbers TOO GOOD!
My four year old niece brought me over this little fellow, kind of cute huh?

100_3395B
He stuck around for a little bit then scurried off for parts unknown!

The Geese are still here, the young are getting big now and should be off on their own very soon.

100_3344B

There are seven in this family total, their dad was keeping his eye on me from another part of the lake, what a nice weekend it has been!

100_3349B

Here we go, all seven of them together! HEAD COUNT!!!!
I guess I should head off for now, it's getting late and I a tired!
Later all!

Friday fun!

Today sure went FAST! I bought the parts for a tune-up and was able to get most of it done, I have only the spark plugs to do yet, the engine was too warm when I attempted it.
I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, P.C.V.valve and the air filter, I knew the truck was idling rough and I found out why when I pulled the rotor out of it, that thing was worn badly and there was oxidation on the tip of it also.
I also replaced the electric window motor in my Mom's 2000 Chevy Express van, I had done one in my Dad's truck a couple of years ago and it took me three hours and was a HUGE pain in the BUTT! LOL!
When I pulled the door panel off I found that the motor was right in front of me and was only bolted in! YES! The motor in Dad's truck had been riveted in and drilling those rivets out is what took me so long, needless to say the motor in Mom's van only took me like 20 minutes to replace, now BOTH of the windows in front work like they are SUPPOSED to! SWEET!!
Sis made meatloaf and I started potato's, Mom made garden fresh green beans and beets also, what a nice dinner that was.

Time to head off, sleep is calling me loudly at the moment.
Later all!

Friday's here!

So Friday is her once again! YES! I am looking forward to a nice campfire tonight along with a good HOT cup of coffee! YUM! LOL!
I'm trying out a new toy at the moment to see how it works? It is Windows live writer, I can make the post off line and post it later if I need to! COOL!
I will post a few pictures later on this weekend if I can, my sister a friend and I went walking around the lake last night and the swans let us take pictures of them for a few minutes then took off. Silly swans!!

 Cabellero-San-Juan-ii-1000367
I found this painting on line a couple of days ago, I'd like to be able to paint like this! this is COOL!I like the late 70's early 80's style of western painting, it is different?
So far the live writer is a COOL program to use, much easier than the Blogger online tools, BUT, I have not posted this yet so I guess I'll see how it turns out?
I am cooking dinner at the lake tonight, I'm thinking meatloaf! I'll be picking up onion, mushrooms and green pepper if I decide to make it.
Time to see if I set up the blog tools right or not!
Later!

The days are changing again

I don't know if anyone has noticed or no but the days are once again getting shorter, nearly an hour and a half now! I'm not even sure where the summer has gone so far? I've been at the lake all but one of the weekends so far, but there have been some MAJOR busy one's this year, so much to do, so little time to do it!
I have a power window motor to replace as well as a new hinge pin on my SUV, but there is time to get both done yet!
My brother told me about a classic annimation feed for my Ipod, two actualy, I subscribed to both and now can view WAY old cartoons on it! WAY too COOL! The old cartoons are SO much better than the new one's!

Michigan's temps

This is my little garden at the lake, it looked a WHOLE lot better till that lattice on the left fell on it! DOH! LOL!

I was looking at my weather station tonight and I was surprised by the high and low readings for the year?
Feruary 11th. -8.9 degrees (YA! BELOW zero!) 20% humidity

July 31st. 100.8, 90% humidity

What a difference five month's can make?

Work went well today, I micro-sectioned four defect samples and took pictures of them with the camera/microscope, I actualy was able to get a few good pictures with it.

I made reservations for a future trip also, the last time I went away I waited till the last moment to reserve a room! OH MAN! what a MISTAKE!!! this time I used my BRAIN! LOL!!

Nothing new going on here, same old same old.

Time to head off for now!
Later!
